Your justification before God makes all the difference. It makes every difference—not only to where we are heading, but to how we act and feel in our present, in both good times and (more surprisingly, and wonderfully) in bad.  It is as we know more deeply what we have, who we are, and where we stand simply because “we have been justified by faith” (v 1) that we will find ourselves rejoicing in the certain hope of being with God, rejoicing in suffering, rejoicing in God.
